Visual identity, signage, and illustrations for contemporary Italian restaurant at Motto by Hilton in Chelsea

Celebrating heritage with a contemporary twist

Lulla is a contemporary homage to Italian dining at Motto by Hilton, nestled in the heart of Chelsea. Isometric’s visual identity for the restaurant is joyful and inviting, embodying the restaurant’s ethos of fresh, flavor-forward food, where every detail is thoughtfully considered. The design deploys bold, playful typography paired with whimsical hand-drawn illustrations and a vibrant color palette. Seamlessly complementing the restaurant interior, the design underscores Lulla’s dedication to sumptuous dining and good times in a welcoming environment.

Blending retro charm with modern flair

The logotype for Lulla, Chelsea’s new modern Italian restaurant, customizes the typeface Oggle, designed by Natalie Rauch, balancing retro charm with an unmistakably fresh vibe. The typographic system evokes the restaurant’s exuberant personality, while ensuring readability and sophistication. A colorful palette conveys the connection to classic Italian American cuisine.

An iconic sign for an iconic restaurant

For the restaurant’s exterior sidewalk, Isometric collaborated with Noble Signs on a double-sided neon blade sign, a classic sign type that celebrates New York City’s history. Red typography floats against a forest green backdrop, arranged vertically to maximize its scale. Visible on approach from both 6th and 7th Avenues, this eye-catching design embodies the lively and welcoming atmosphere that awaits inside.
