Framing a Contemporary Discourse
The Princeton University Humanities Council is a hub for 46 academic departments and programs that explore timeless questions at the heart of the human condition. Isometric was asked to design a visual identity and suite of 10 websites that unite the humanities at Princeton while maintaining the autonomy of the Council’s constituent programs. Abstracting the open book from the University shield, the new identity amplifies the contemporary relevance of humanities discourse.

Thinking Cinema — Poster Series
Sponsored by the Humanities Council, “Thinking Cinema” is a year-long series of six lectures by historians and theorists whose research interests vary but who share a commitment to critical film and media analysis.
The poster series deploys film leader frames, which were originally used to assist in the threading of projectors. These varied, lyrical abstractions evoke the history and mechanics of cinema, symbolizing the lecturers’ shared commitment to film analysis.
