Grounds signage and wayfinding at the national historic landmark in Princeton, New Jersey
Activating a landscape across time
Following the design of a sophisticated permanent exhibition for Morven Museum & Garden, Isometric developed a comprehensive grounds signage program to activate 4.5 acres of its historic grounds. Like the architecture of the house, the landscape preserves history since the founding of America, and before. Minimalist vertical signs provide wayfinding and historical context for a contemporary audience without visually compromising the expansiveness of the landscape. They educate visitors and invite new interpretations of archaeological sites, colonial gardens, Civil War-era orchards, and 20th century additions.
