A Context to Reflect

Nathalie Jolivert is a New York-based Haitian artist who deploys distinctively fluid figures, abstracted scenes from Haitian folktales, and bold typographic annotations. Building on the Saint-Soleil and metal art practices of Haiti, her work addresses the environmental, social, and urban issues found at the conceptual crossroads between Port-au-Prince and New York City. Colorblind brings together a curated set of illustrations and paintings that highlight Nathalie’s experience in Haiti and the United States. In it, she invites her audience to pause and question how their own daily practices might impact social and natural environments.
